Tips For Skin Care

August 27th, 2007

Dry skin is a skin condition which can be both itchy and painful. When a person suffers from dry skin, they lack a natural oil called sebum. When dry skin is washed with soap and water, the skin can feel tight. The most important part of washing dry skin is the product which you use. It is important to use products which are alcohol free. The alcohol in products will cause the skin to become more dry. The most important thing to remember when treating dry skin is to moisturize. The more a person with dry skin moisturizes, the heathier their skin will be. The moisturizer should never contain any alcohol.

Combination skin is the most common skin type. Combination skin is when part of the skin is dry and part of the skin is oily. The area of the skin that is oily is called a t-zone. The t-zone goes across the forehead, down the nose and to the chin. The rest of the face including the cheeks, around the eyes, and the throat are all dry skin areas. There are treatments for combination skin. It is not necessary for a person with combination skin to have treatments for both dry and oily skin. The treatment for combination skin is used in a different way. When applying the treatment for oily skin, it should be used as is. As with any Skin Care products when applying the treatment for dry skin, it should be diluted. This makes it much less expensive and much less complicated.

It should not be overwhelming to figure out the proper skin care when you are first starting out. All you need to do is know your skin type and the rest is simple.
