Evolution of SEO

August 13th, 2007

SEO is the equivalent of a vulture, surfing on the successful big wave wearing a google branded t-shirt and muttering keyword phrases and page-rank philosophy’s founded in offices around watercoolers and on web boards entitled ’seo tactics’.

The internet now though is built for SEO’s - kinda like ‘built by search engine optimizers for search engine optimizers’ but a bit more vague. The huge scope of the net means having a skilled seo operative is as valid a role as having a great web designer - because content in poor context is irrelevant. SEO is a great example then, of Long tailing. A small branch of skills that can help business do big things on similar scales to a professional PR department (Public relations not Page rank - although the two appear on parallels in some ways.)

There are numerous competitions holding onto the tail of SEO seeing how long they can keep hold for, Pagerank-10 (.com .net etc etc.) experiments are very popular and seem to gather pace well. But out of all online SEO and SEM competitions RankRace.com Stands out by far - popularity for it is growing at googlespeeds, making it almost an SEO for the SEO!
