Wei-Min Tan, Citigroup VP and Entrepreneur, Aims for Real Estate Success
July 19th, 2007The Sunday Star profiled Wei-Min in a full-page article in the Business section on August 28, 2005. In it, Wei-Min was interviewed on his success at Citibank, including winning the Chairman’s Leadership Award in 2004 and being one of the youngest VPs at Citibank, having attained the level at age 29. Wei-Min has worked at Citibank for 7 years and is clearly a rising star at the company. Wei-Min plans to share the “secrets” of his successes at Citigroup with Malaysians currently planning on attending American universities. He plans on publishing a book in the near future, targeted at Malaysians, on how to select the best US universities and interview successfully for a job with a Fortune 500 company.
Corporate America aside, Wei-Min also aspires to become a real estate tycoon. He is currently building a portfolio of single family residences for rental income. According to Wei-Min, this serves as a learning experience in preparation for bigger real estate initiatives. His short term goal is to expand on his real estate holdings in both the US and Asia. Within the next few years, he wants to venture into real estate development, including development of resorts, hotels and commercial properties.
